On March 30, 2007 a number of the LARA members set up for a presentation and demonstration of the Amateur Radio. Below is a copy of the presentation. Here is the Amateur Radio presentation - Final The team set up on the Thursday, in the field. When we went there on Friday, we were advised we couldn't have the field! So, plan B. We set up in the back parking lot, with a promise that other vehicles wouldn't be allowed back there. Right! So, we ended up moving the antennas a few times, around all of the vehicles that ended up back there. Scheduled, originally for a 6:30 p.m. start, we finally got going at 8:00 p.m. The initial turnout swelled considerably at about the half way mark. The presentation was well received, and the demos clearly demonstrated what Amateur Radio was all about. A special thanks to all of those Hams, in BC and Alberta that hung in there and helped us with the demo. The 'noise floor' in the room was about 20 over, and it was amongst the most difficult operating conditions that I have tried to demonstrate under. Thanks guys!
